Nantong Yangtze Carbon Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in the production and sales of ultra-high power graphite electrodes for electric arc furnace steelmaking (referred to as UHP graphite electrodes).

At present, the company's business scope includes the manufacturing, sales and related product research and development of graphite products, new carbon materials and related products, technical services, etc. The company's main products are ultra-high power graphite electrodes for steelmaking, with specifications from φ350mm to φ700mm, and a production capacity of 4,700 tons/year. Φ9000mm ultra-high power graphite electrode, which represents the highest level and largest specification in China, has moved towards mass supply. The company pays attention to product quality management and has passed the certification of ISO<> standard. The products have won the high-tech product certification of Jiangsu Province and the Golden Bull Award of Jiangsu Excellent Product, and the quality and technical level of large-scale ultra-high-power graphite electrode products are close to or reach the level of similar products of foreign advanced enterprises.

Since 1995, the company closely follows the development and changes of the international graphite electrode market, to the national industrial policy encouraged and supported in the field of graphite electrode with the highest technical content UHP graphite electrode as the development direction, relying on foreign advanced management technology and its own innovation, UHP graphite electrode production and sales increase year by year, in the domestic UHP graphite electrode segment whether it is output or scale, for many years occupy the top three positions. At present, the production capacity is 4,<> tons of ultra-high power graphite electrodes per year.

Due to the good product quality, the products have been applied in many large domestic steel mills, and signed strategic partnership agreements with several major domestic steel mills, and some products are exported.

Nantong Yangtze Carbon Co., Ltd. now has an ultra-high power graphite electrode engineering technology research center in Jiangsu Province. The company introduces advanced production management mode, establishes a standardized scientific research management supervision system and quality assurance system.

In recent years, in order to further do a good job in energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection, our company has gradually shut down some graphitization, roasting and impregnation workshops with large energy consumption, and the production of these three processes is all completed by outsourcing processing. Over the years, the company has always attached great importance to environmental protection work, actively carried out energy conservation and emission reduction work, overcome resource shortage, improved resource utilization, reduced and controlled the emission of pollutants in the production process, and continuously carried out batch and phased transformation of old production equipment and environmental protection equipment, and achieved good results by carrying out cleaner production audits.

1. Enterprise environmental protection policy

Protect the environment, prevent pollution, and continue to promote cleaner production.

Protecting the environment and benefiting mankind is the responsibility and obligation of every citizen, and creating a comfortable, healthy and clean working and living environment is our environmental protection concept.

Rational and effective use of water, electricity, gas, steam and other energy in production work, reduce material loss, and control the emission of "three wastes". To reduce waste, reduce consumption, save costs, protect the environment as the orientation to promote the improvement of enterprise economic benefits, and continue to promote cleaner production.

We promise to strictly abide by national and local environmental laws and regulations and other requirements, consider environmental protection in all aspects of production and operation, and implement the "three simultaneities" of environmental protection in "new, renovated and expanded" projects; Through scientific management and full participation, strengthen the whole process control of the production process, strive to achieve full utilization of resources, and continue to promote cleaner production.

2. Environmental management organization and responsibilities

The Office of the Environmental Supervision Committee is located in the Safety and Environment Department and is mainly responsible for the daily work of the Company's Environmental Protection Committee. The main responsibilities of the Committee are as follows:

(1) Conscientiously implement the guidelines, policies, laws and regulations of the party and national environmental protection and the company's relevant environmental management requirements.

(2) According to relevant laws and regulations, organize the formulation and review of the company's rules and regulations for environmental protection and pollutant emission reduction, and supervise and inspect the implementation of the company's rules and regulations by various departments.

(3) Organize and formulate the company's environmental protection and pollutant emission reduction plans and plans.

(4) Establish and improve the company's environmental protection institutions and staffing, and comprehensively carry out environmental protection and pollutant emission reduction.

3. Environmental protection management system

A sound system is a strong guarantee for environmental protection. Leaders at all levels of the company attach great importance to environmental protection work, and always regard environmental protection work as an important task of the company. Formulate environmental policies and various environmental management systems based on the characteristics of the company, formulate and implement monitorable environmental targets, indicators and assessment plans, and standardize daily environmental management activities in the form of procedures and assessments to achieve environmental goals.

The company formulates a medium- and long-term work plan for environmental protection, formulates an annual work plan at the beginning of each year, and revises it according to changing objective conditions to ensure the implementation of environmental policy and the feasibility of work plan.

4. Cleaner production

Over the years, the company has been carrying out the concept of cleaner production, trying to carry out cleaner production work in a small range within the company, and hiring industry environmental protection experts and cleaner production auditors to provide application guidance and professional technical guidance of cleaner production methodology for the company's cleaner production activities, formulated a cleaner production audit work plan, and actively organized the implementation of cleaner production programs, and passed the Nantong cleaner production acceptance, the company continued to implement cleaner production work, and achieved good results.

5. Environmental protection publicity, education and training

The company attaches great importance to the publicity of energy conservation and emission reduction, and believes that only by integrating energy conservation and emission reduction into everyone's work and life can we achieve long-term sustainable results. Therefore, eye-catching thrift slogans are posted everywhere in the company's offices, production workshops, canteens and other areas, reminding employees to start by saving every drop of water and every kWh of electricity.

At the same time, the company uses publicity boards, blackboard newspapers, and various meetings to spread environmental protection knowledge and concepts, publicize, educate and train employees on environmental protection knowledge, and continuously improve employees' environmental awareness.

(2) Implementation of environmental protection laws and regulations

1. Environmental violations in production and operation in the past three years

The company takes compliance with national laws and regulations as the most fundamental requirement and principle, and has not had any environmental pollution accidents and environmental violations in the past 3 years.

2. Measures and methods for enterprises to deal with environmental petition cases

If the company receives an environmental petition case, it will seriously cooperate with the investigation of the environmental protection department, carefully analyze the reasons according to the requirements and suggestions of the environmental protection department and the public, and implement improvement measures in combination with the actual situation of the company.

3. Environmental testing and evaluation

Environmental testing items include: wastewater outlet, exhaust gas outlet, plant boundary noise, particulate matter fugitive discharge for sampling and monitoring. Water sample detection indicators include pH, COD, SS, NH4-N and petroleum, etc., and atmospheric monitoring indicators are dust. In order to timely understand and grasp the pollutant discharge of each outlet of the company, the company entrusted Jiangsu Hengan Testing Technology Co., Ltd. in 2016 to regularly monitor the discharge of various pollutants. The monitoring results show that all the indicators of the company's external wastewater discharge meet the first-level standard of the "Comprehensive Sewage Discharge Standard" (GB 8978-1996); Air emissions meet the secondary emission standards of the Comprehensive Emission Standards for Air Pollutants (GB16297-1996); The noise of the factory boundary meets the limit requirements of Class III (north, west and east of the factory boundary) and Class IV. (south side) standards of the "Industrial Enterprise Boundary Noise Standard" (GB12348‐90).

All new projects of the company invite Nantong Environmental Science Institute to conduct environmental impact assessment of the project, and strictly abide by the "three simultaneities" of environmental protection during the implementation of the project to ensure that environmental protection facilities and construction projects are designed, constructed and put into operation at the same time.

4. Emergency handling measures and emergency plans for environmental emergencies

In order to protect the safety of public life and property, reduce environmental pollution, improve the company's emergency handling ability to prevent and deal with various environmental emergencies, minimize the discharge of pollutants, and protect the environment, our company has prepared a perfect environmental risk emergency plan for possible environmental emergencies in the unit, in line with the principle of "prevention first, self-help first, unified command, division of labor and responsibility", to ensure that the on-site emergency treatment and disposal can be carried out quickly and effectively when accidents occur.

Frequently organize environmental protection facility operators to learn and train, familiar with and master the fault handling of dust removal facilities, and proficient in emergency disposal methods.

5. Implementation of the "new, reformed, expanded" environmental protection system at the same time

With the continuous expansion of the company's production scale, a series of new construction, reconstruction and expansion activities have been carried out. 4. Performance of measures to reduce environmental load

(1) Types and discharge of wastewater

The company's wastewater mainly comes from workshop cleaning water, product cooling water, equipment cooling water, employee domestic wastewater and rainwater. In 2016, the wastewater discharge of the whole plant was 16,12 tons. According to the monitoring results of Hengan Testing Company, all indicators of the company's external wastewater discharge have reached the first-level standard of the "Comprehensive Sewage Discharge Standard" (GB 8978-1996).

(2) Types and emissions of exhaust gases

The company's exhaust gas is mainly industrial dust generated in the production process. In the process of generating dust are the use of dust removal facilities - bag dust collector, through the strict management of dust removal facilities, the dust generated in the production process is effectively collected, according to Hengan testing company monitoring, the emission dust concentration is up to the "air pollutants comprehensive emission standard" (GB16297-1996) emission standard.

(3) Types and discharge of solid waste

The company's solid waste is mainly for employees' household waste, waste packaging wood, waste ton bagging, waste packaging iron sheet, waste waste generated by sanitation, etc. Among them, domestic garbage is cleaned and disposed of by the Sanitation Office of the Port Gate District; Waste packaging iron sheet is sold to renewable resources co., LTD., metal processing plants and other comprehensive utilization; All other types of solid waste are comprehensively utilized.

(4) Noise situation at the factory boundary

The company's noise is mainly composed of the working noise of air compressors and various types of fans and vehicles. The noise source is far from the factory boundary, and according to the monitoring of the municipal monitoring station, the noise of the factory boundary meets the limit requirements of Class III (north, west and east of the factory boundary) and Class IV. (south) standards of the "Industrial Enterprise Boundary Noise Standard" (GB12348-90).
